Proving that women’s health is not just a trend, but an award-winning necessity.
On the 6th April, the Liverpool Guild of Students held their annual Guild Awards. A night to celebrate our university’s individual and society celebrations, from the Inclusivity award, Society and New Society of the Year, to Teacher of the Year and more.
This years winners spanned from any different categories of societies, from affecting change, to subject-related societies and more.
My own society, the Women’s Health Advocacy Society, a society created to educate, spread awareness and create a community for anybody who is experiencing, in the process of or wants to learn more about women’s health. Our society has an array of events for everyone, from themed craft events, film nights, quiz nights, bake sales, fundraisers, educational talks from important figures in the women’s health field and more.
I am happy to announce that our society won New Society of the Year. This award means so much to me and my committee, as we will reach more members of the University, the public and more awareness is being spread about women’s health. I would like to take this moment in thanking every person who believed in me to create this society, everyone who voted for us and my committee too.

It was a privilege to have been shortlisted for the Inclusivity award too, which is awarded to somebody who have gone above and beyond to consider the importance of inclusion within their course, events or activities. My shortlist included how I had went above and beyond to create spaces for women to discuss their journeys of diagnosis, having a health condition, spaces to learn and create a supportive community for all. I want to thank everyone who nominated me for this award too.
We are hoping to fundraise and collaborate with more charities within the next year. If you know any societies that would be happy to be involved, please contact us on Instagram.
We are looking forward to our upcoming events within the next academic year!
Well done to all of the shortlists and winners at the Guild Awards too.
