Festival season may be well and truly cancelled but Spotify certainly isn’t! Below is a list of five artists to watch in 2020 and beyond!

Freeda

Proving that Manchester is once again the birthplace of musical gods, Freeda has catapulted the scene like no other. The band is oh-so cool, with the stage presence reminiscent of the 90’s brit-pop glory days. Current singles include “Plead”, “Go Home” and “Wash”, all of which are guaranteed to satisfy your indie-rock needs. Five lads, relatable lyrics, and bangin’ guitar riffs and beats- what more could you ask for?

Ten Tonnes

Fun fact, Ten Tonnes (or Ethan Barnett) is actually the younger brother of BRIT Award winning George Ezra. However, it is cleat that Barnett is just as successful in his own right. In 2019, he released his self titled debut, which spawned a number of feel-good tunes. This includes, “Better Than Me”, the bass and guitar heavy track guaranteed to get you on your feet. Having already performed for BBC Introducing and fashion-house Burberry, it is clear that Ten Tonnes’ career is only going to go from strength to strength!

Geowulf

The first thing that comes to mind when you see Geowulf is badass. The Aussie duo released their debut “Great Big Blue” in 2018 followed by their second album “My Resignation” in 2019. The only way to describe Geowulf’s music is dreamy and delicious. Songs like “Drink Too Much” and “Saltwater” instantly transport you to a sandy, tropical, poolside, thanks to the dreamy vocals of lead singer Star Kendrick.

Inhaler

It’s clear that the Irish four-piece has well and truly made their mark in the world of music. Having already ranked number five in BBC’s Sound of 2020 poll, the band are well and truly tipped for stardom. Possibly their most well known tune “My Honest Face”, is a guitar based, synth heavy anthem of youth culture- something us university students can well and truly relate to!

The Night Café

Having released their album “0151” in 2019, and embarking on a nationwide tour, the scouse four-piece is well and truly on track to dominate festival season post-coronavirus! The band has such a raw and unique sound, which when coupled with their lyrics makes for an absolutely amazing sing along with mates and a couple of ciders! In particular, “Together” and “You Change With The Seasons” are absolute bop inducing bangers, thanks to the charm and innocence of lead singers Sean Martin’s Vocals.
