Talented Troupe Fantasy Performers move online to Support NHS Charities

When I’m stuck with a day
That’s grey, And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin, And Say, Oh
The sun’ll come out, Tomorrow!

‘It’s a Hard Knock Life for Us’

Corona’s been tough… really tough. We’ve instagrammed, we’ve Zoom called, we’ve walked, and we’ve walked, and we’ve walked again. It’s beginning to feel like Groundhog Day, right? In light of the utter monotony of the big LD, thousands of us have turned to online forms of entertainment to bring some happiness and variety to our sad little isolated lives. Luckily, hundreds of artists are sacrificing their time and talents to ensure that this entertainment does not run dry in our time of need, and Liverpool based Fantasy Performers have not let the Scouse side down!

The gifted entertainment group have performed live for over five thousand people in Liverpool since their 2019 launch. With live performances out of the question in the current climate, the performers have moved online to satisfy all of our entertainment needs! Throughout May and June, for a donation to NHS Charities Together, they will bring their stag-ey skills to a screen near you. No, literally near. It’ll be your laptop. Maybe your TV if you’re lucky. You can’t leave your house.

‘A Few of my Favourite Thi-Musicals!’

The repertoire includes some of our favourites from Bugsy Malone, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, Little Shop of Horrors and Annie. ‘The sun will come out tomorrow’ hits a little differently now, doesn’t it? But then, so does Miss Hannigan’s obsession for keeping surfaces clean.

‘You give a little love and it all comes back to you’

“We are delighted to be able to combine two of our passions; bringing a smile to people’s faces with our uplifting musicals show and raising money to help people during this difficult time.”

They’re ‘the best at bein’ good guys’

I think I can speak for all of us, dear Reader, when I say that it is so incredibly heart-warming to see so many from the arts industry pulling together in this crisis, especially when the future of their trade is so uncertain. Fantasy Performers (in the immortal lyrics of Bugsy Malone) really are the best at bein’ good guys. Let’s head over and show them, and our wonderful NHS, some support!

PS. For those of you who happen not to be theatre fiends, please know that the subheadings are lyrics… Or lockdown has finally cracked me. Let’s go with the former.
