Can you sum up your campaign in under 10 words?
£1 soup, cheap bus tickets, more power sockets
What made you decide to run for officer?
I’ve been at this university for four years now and there’s a lot of issues that I’ve wanted to see solved for a long time; a cheap hot food option in the Guild like other Student Unions provide, more power sockets in seminar rooms and lecture halls, longer library hours and better support for LGBTQ+ students. My hope is that if I’m elected I’ll be able to tackle these issues and more so that the next generation of Liverpool students don’t have to deal with them like I did.
How have you been involved with the Guild during your time at uni?
In my four years as a student I’ve been heavily involved in the Guild; I’m currently the President of the Film Society where I run three events every week, I spent the majority of my time writing my dissertation in the Courtyard to make the most of the cheap pints and I was recently a member of the Vote Leave team during the National Union of Students referendum where I spent the entire week 9-5 campaigning around campus. I also attend litter picking events around campus and the local area, especially in Brownlow Hill and Everton.
What’s your favourite spot in Liverpool?
When it’s not too windy, the benches down by the docks are a nice place to sit and drink a coffee, especially in the evening when the sun starts setting!
